YES! it looks like a formula/equation,… and the plot thickens…
has anybody noticed Nan Mercy’s necklace? is it of a hexagram, or an omega? It probably doesn’t mean anything…
The necklace looks almost Arabic; of course it is hard to tell. I do recall seeing something similar to what it looks like in those new age stores doted around here. I unfortunately can’t think of it enough to be able to grab a google-picture.
Again – loving your stuff and looking forward to the next pages!
One small request, though. I enjoy getting two pages on Wednesday, but is there anyway for you to setup the site to show the first page rather than the second? When I jump to my LCiM bookmark, I’d prefer not to see what’s on page two before having to skip back…
That bugs me, too, Scatterbreak, but I’ve not found a way around it yet. I hate giving away the ‘punchline’ before I’ve told the joke. I’ll go back thru the Comic Press forums. If anybody has some suggestions, I’m all ears. (Now THAT would be a Lovecraftian monster of a different sort!)
And thanks to you and everyone else for the good words.
Just to play devil’s advocate, maybe posting one page a day twice a week would take care of that little issue. Another advantage might be that people could be more inclined to drop by the site multiple times a week – maybe translating into more people remembering to vote for you on TWC multiple times a week.
(Speaking of which – remember follow the link and vote, folks!)
Man oh man, Larry, the action..and mystery are really heating up now. Pages continue to be wonderful to look at and read. Bravo! This is quickly becoming my favorite comic these days. Thanks so much.
Alethia is the Americanized spelling (seen it spelled that way dated to turn of century america if that helps)…not sure about the traditional spelling…
it would depend on how accurate you want to make it. I.E. who wrote the word, and how would they spell it.
Just pointing it out, otherwise this comic is awesome. I love Lovecraft’s stuff…going back and digging up quite a bit of pulp stuff…Howard, Lovecraft, etc. Keep up the good work.
“Howard Phillips Lovecraft does not crawl out of windows like a common schoolboy.” That line has me laughing hysterically. I haven’t noticed any comedy in this, but then again I certainly wouldn’t expect any, either. Great touch though!

Oh! I see something on the back of that page!

I thought Greek aletheia had a second epsilon…

Ah, the glories of the internet! Check the page again and you’ll see that I had a sudden burst of understanding. Thanks for catching it.

If he’s smart he jumped through a gate to the dreamlands and he’s having a mojito in Celephais right now.
Seriously, that’s what I’d be doing.

Lovecraft was an ardent teetotaler. Do they make virgin mojitos on the other side of your gate? And of course, Celephais is fiction anyway:-)

Well it’s the dreamlands. I’m sure they can make anything they really want to
I still say he’s off rockin’ it Randolph Carter style.

I was already giving some thought to posting only one page a week, but maybe your idea is better. Let me ruminate on it awhile.

Love the comic… redirected here from Afterlife Blues. I do like Lovecraft and the Mythos, so this really appeals to me.

By the way, that writing on the back on the page looks like a mathematical equation – very sparse. I think I can notice brackets!
