Weekly Shtuff, 9-30-11
What a couple of weeks! I am still not quite back into the swing of things as far as Lovecraft is Missing goes; I keep forgetting little things like Weekly Shtuff and blog posts and doing new vote incentives. But I’m keepingĀ up with the pages, so that’s something in my favor….
Especially since today’s page marks the third anniversary of the strip, the beginning of it’s fourth year! And by estimation, there’s about two more years of comic left before it is all over. To celebrate I’d love to see us get back up there in the top 50 on Top Web Comics. The voting starts anew Oct.1 (And if anybody has any ideas for marketing LIM, please share.)
The fall semester at school has been a hectic one but it’s a good group of students, In my five classes, I have to drive them out when class is over rather than start watching them dribble out in twos and threes about a half hour before class ends. There is nothing more invigorating than being around people who want to learn.
And my own MFA program, well, that’s taking up a good bit of time too. It’s online, so the class only gets to meet each other via email and comments. It’s mostly another good group and I know I am going to enjoy working with all but one of them. That one is a real piece of work, confident in her pinched, constipated world view for no discernible reason other than it’s hers. If you don’t see things her way, you’re part of the lunatic fringe. Like many whackos with her mind set, she confuses outright rudeness with being “plain-spoken.” Her opinions don’t bother me; it’s her ‘tude that is the irritant. I hope that it at least produces a pearl in the way of a sharp writing piece for me.
Next week, a review of Monster House and a new page and, I am hoping, a new vote incentive.
Have a good weekend.

So good to have you back up and running. Loving the new chapter and looking forward to more. Good luck on your classes. Mine are driving me crazy.
