Weekly Shtuff
It’s December.
Top Web Comics voting starts all over again. LIM is at 147.
Now other sites offer incentives to vote – vote and get free wallpaper, or a look at some rough art, or a peek at next week’s page. Good ideas all, and I’ll get on it as soon as I decide to let the comic book and posts fall by the wayside.
I tried a contest. Didn’t work.
But with today’s comic page, I (mad cackle) have you right where I want you. RIGHT where I want you.
You see, there are two alternate pages in the pipeline for next week. One continues the story along the lines it has been building.
The other, the one that might just go up if LIM doesn’t get a whole lot of votes this week and rocket back into the top 100 at least, if not the top 50 –I’m new at wielding mad power, so I’m a bit indecisive– as I say, the one that just might go up next week….
…will have H.P. Lovecraft explain that everything was just a big misunderstanding —end of story. Worse than a dream! Worse than being the fantasy of an autistic child! Worse than being an elaborate real-estate scam to get Father Jackey to vacate his loft! A BIG MISUNDERSTANDING!!!!!! Not only was nothing what it seemed to be, nothing was anything at all!!!!
Ok, not really, it was just a thought. But I really would appreciate it if you’d vote for LIM at Top WebComics today and everyday (perfectly legal, which is how some comics get over 30,000 votes every month).
It’s going to be touch and go for these last few pages, as I am barely a week ahead, but I am working furiously to get Book 3 wrapped up by the end of the year.
Next week, Fringe, the show I really should love but don’t, and Fantômas, the movie I loved forty years before I evef got a chance to see it. And a new page……
Have a good weekend.

I would just like to point out that, yes your one vote does count. I just singlehandedly took LIM from 100 to 99… with my one vote for today! So, vote, people! Do not let my favorite web comic go quietly into that cold, dark, incomprehensibly black night.

I am confused as to why his teeth are pink in panel 3. Somehow how the green tongue in panel 2 doesn’t bother me so much, but the pink teeth do. Maybe it’s that they don’t look pink later… or that I think pink teeth ==> bleeding in the mouth, and so I’m looking for a cause.
Er, yeah. Also, I voted some. We’re at 65.

(And that’s not a general complaint, or even really a complaint. More like an observation. I love the coloring in LiM.)

Didn’t think for a minute it was a complaint, I’m glad someone looks that closely but thanks all the same for the compliment. My wife is one of those people who can walk into a dimly lit room and see a dime on the far side of the room and tell you that the spot on it is red while I’m still looking for the dime.
If you promise not to tell anyone, I’ll share one of my secrets for coloring Lovecraft is Missing: I’m slightly color-blind in the red green spectrum. I actually do try to check colors and compensate when I can, but at the same time, since there’s nothing I can do about the condition, I try to let it work to my advantage, to give my coloring a little quirkiness it might not otherwise have. That, and sometimes it’s just a mistake:-)
